On February 21, 2025, Deshiburg Fruits International Co.,Ltd. and Kehong Uganda Industrial Development Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement, marking the imminent establishment of the Uganda Pineapple Industrial Park Project within the China-Uganda Agricultural Cooperation Industrial Park, following over a year of efforts by the South-South Cooperation Project Team to advance the initiative.

The Uganda Pineapple Industry Industrial Park Project is proposed to be jointly funded by Linyi Qiwei Canned Food Stuff Co.,Ltd., LINYI ATLANTIS IMP & EXP CO.,LTD, and the U.S.-based WW Company. The project will fully leverage local resource advantages and mature product processing technologies to create a high-end, eco-friendly, and healthy food processing industrial park. The project covers a total area of 100 acres, will be developed in three phases, and has a total investment of US$11 million. Key facilities include office buildings, dormitories, production workshops, testing centers, and storage warehouses. Phase one will primarily produce pineapple canned goods; phase two will focus on pineapple juice; and phase three will specialize in pineapple wine. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate annual export revenue exceeding USD 10 million, create hundreds of job opportunities, and help boost the income of over a thousand local farmers.
